Ilgın Uysal
Pianist Ilgın Uysal started her piano studies with private lessons and received Bachelor’s Degree at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory under the guidance of Prof. Hande Dalkılıç. Uysal gave concerts in various cities such as Vienna, Budapest, Ankara, İstanbul and Burdur where she was a guest performer in Mehmet Akif Ersoy University 2nd Young Talents Festival.
Uysal improved her artistic approach by studying with various musicians including İdil Biret, Gülsin Onay, Jerzy Sterczynski, Victor Rosenbaum, Milena Mollova, Pamela Mia Paul, Malgorzata Zarębińska, Marek Drewnowski, Tanel Joametz and Carlos Vargas and in 2017, performed in Bakırköy Leyla Gencer Opera and Arts Center Hall along with pianist İdil Biret and three other masterclass students.
Having a special interest in the field, Uysal studied and performed chamber music works with many musicians from various countries and worked as a founder member of Sempre Trio between 2019-2021. She also attended to “Young Composers and Young Performers” concert in which contemporary chamber works were premiered at Bilkent Concert Hall.
While continuing her master studies with Prof. Lilian Tonella Tüzün in Anadolu University State Conservatory, Uysal has studied as a guest student at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music under István Gulyás and Fülöp Ránki and became the first Turkish scholarship holder in piano field within Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme in Hungary.
Along with the other fields such as choir conducting and musical theater, Uysal continues her academic studies by participating in the 12th International Hisarlı Ahmet Symposium which is organized under the title “Music and Climate”.
“Unlike the modern capitalist society, ancient societies had a much more modest and sensitive understanding of life with the comprehension of being a part of the celestial and natural events, therefore being a part of the cosmic rhythm and natural cycle. I believe that as musicians, if we can learn from the ancient civilizations and comprehend the cyclical understanding that leads to the cognitive internalization of the climate crisis and thus motivates to take action, we can determine our role in this fight,”says Ilgın Uysal, about the climate crisis.
