Alexandra-Mihaela Vizman is a Romanian pianist based in Switzerland. She was born on the 8th of November 1993 in Deva. She started studying piano at the age of 8 with teacher Ana-Maria Colompar when she was a student at the Waldorf School in Timișoara. Four years later, she was admitted to Ion Vidu National College of Arts where she enrolled in the class of Professor Maria Bodo. They worked together until 2016, when she obtained her degree in Musical Interpretation – Piano at the Faculty of Music and Theatre in Timișoara.

During her studies, she participated in national and international competitions and festivals, where she won several awards. In 2014, after winning the scholarship of the competition organized by the Rotaract Club within the RotarArt 4x4 project, she performed solo recitals in Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Bucharest.

She then continued her studies at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, joining the class of French pianist Pascal Godart. She earned a Master's degree in Instrumental Pedagogy in 2018 and a second Master's degree in Musical Interpretation in 2020. During this period, she participated in masterclasses with award-winning pianists Johan Schmidt and Giovanni Bellucci, and trained in chamber music with Pierre-Stéphane Meugé and Vincent Coq, pianist of Trio Wanderer.

She has a vibrant artistic activity, performing concerts as a soloist, especially in 2016 and 2019 with the Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra in Timișoara, but also numerous recitals, solo or with various chamber music groups, in Switzerland, France and Romania.

In 2017, she created Trio Miró with clarinetist Adeline Mélo and violinist Émile Abeille, with which she performs in Switzerland and abroad.

Contemporary music plays an essential role in her musical activity. In 2016 she began working with Swiss composer and conductor William Blank, on the latter's piano repertoire. This collaboration materialized for the first time in 2018, during the William Blank Portrait Concert, where she performed Lightnings for piano. They collaborated again in 2020 to perform together Blank’s Cris Concerto for piano and ensemble, accompanied by the contemporary ensemble of the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne and conducted by the composer himself.

In 2021, together with conductor Eugène Carmona, violinist Émile Abeille and clarinetist Adeline Mélo, she created Abraxas Ensemble, a musical collective formed with the aim of promoting modern and contemporary music.

In addition to her concert activity, she also carries out a rich pedagogical activity at the Music School of Rolle and at Music'Agora, where she teaches piano, and as an expert for piano exams.
