“Passions” at the top of the world

On July 27, 2024 – pianist and mountaineer Chiara Schmidt assembled a valiant crew and took to the peaks of Dirndl Mountain in Austria.  With keyboard in tow (along with sound and video equipment) she and team braved the heights and logistical difficulties and performed / recorded music, including Brian Field’s climate-change awareness suite for piano “Three Passions for our Tortured Planet”.   The video of the daring climb and subsequent performances will be released in the Spring of 2025.
