Hailed by The New York Times as a “fine pianist,” Pam Goldberg has performed on many of New York City’s preeminent stages both as a soloist and chamber musician.

Widely acknowledged by many to have created the blueprint for venues like Le Poisson Rouge and SubCulture, Pam created a unique environment for both performer and audience in 2000 when she founded Classical Cafe, a nonprofit concert series under the auspices of the 92nd Street Y. The series took place in a subterranean jazz club setting on the upper west side.

The results of Classical Cafe were highly encouraging and led to a focus on an even larger audience base with Governors Island becoming the perfect venue for her concert series, The Rite of Summer Music Festival which had its inaugural concert in July of 2011 and continues to this day.

In addition to her entrepreneurial skills and concertizing, Pam also teaches privately in New York. She served on the piano faculty of the Diller-Quaile School of Music for 10 years.

Pam has also recorded two CDs—a solo album featuring Schumann’s Kreisleriana and Mozart’s Sonata in Bb Major, K.570, and an album of Mozart Sonatas for piano & violin with violinist, Christine Sohn.

Her recording of solo Schubert works are scheduled for release in the Fall of 2022.
