Vasilisa Bogorodskaya
Vasilisa Bogorodskaya is a Russian pianist born in Moscow. She began studying music at the age of 4 at the Gnessin Moscow Special Music School. From the beginning of her career, she performed across concert halls in Moscow and other Russian cities, performing in the Residence of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II on several occasions. Her first performance with an orchestra was at the age of 8.
At the age of 10, simultaneously with her studies at the Gnessin Music School, Vasilisa began to take lessons at the Central Moscow Music School with a teacher-innovator and a laureate of international competitions Vera Kameneva, who is the author of the project "Innovative School of Performing Arts".
Vasilisa gave her first recital at the age of 12. The repertoire included works by Bach, Scarlatti, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, Glinka, Balakirev, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Shchedrin.
From the age of 13 she continued her studying at the School under the Moscow State College of musical performance named after Chopin with the Honored Russian teacher Olga Gruzdeva, who is the successor of the traditions of the outstanding Russian musician Professor Lev Naumov (1925–2005).
At the age of 14 she participated as a solo pianist and ensemble player in the International Musical Project "Chopin Without Borders. Enlightenment with Music" – she toured in cities of Poland: Warsaw, Mazovia, Zhelyazova Wola and others. The project involved young musicians from different countries who performed Chopin's music on various instruments, including the folk instruments of their countries.
Vasilisa studied at the Moscow State College of Musical Performance named after Chopin (in the solo piano class with an Associate Professor Sergey Glavatskikh) and graduated with honors at the age of 19.
After Music College, Vasilisa entered the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and graduated with honors: in the solo piano class with a Honored Artist with Russia Professor Pavel Nersesyan, and in the chamber ensemble class with a Honored Artist of Russia Professor Dmitry Galynin.
Vasilisa is active in concerts as a solo pianist and as a member of chamber and vocal ensembles. Her extensive repertoire includes music of different styles and eras from the 17th to the 21st century. She has also premiered several works from contemporary composers, and participates regularly in the projects of the famous Russian composer Ivan Sokolov (born in 1960) as a performer of his music.
Vasilisa is a laureate of more than twenty international competitions as a solo pianist and as a member of various ensembles (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Japan, Serbia, France, Hungary, Italy).
Vasilisa is involved in research work on the study of unknown, little-known and forgotten musical works, composers and performers.
She currently works as an accompanist at the Moscow State College of Musical Performance, Chopin, and takes post-graduate courses at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Contemporary Music.
