Mirjam Waser
Born in Bern, Switzerland, Mirjam Waser’s lifelong fascination with music has shaped a distinctive and multifaceted artistic path. From an early age, she immersed herself in music, studying piano alongside violin and viola while also nurturing a love for singing and dance.
Waser pursued her academic studies at the University of Bern, where she focused on Musicology and Theater and Dance Studies. Her curiosity and passion for performance led her to Belgium, where she refined her pianistic skills at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège. Even during her undergraduate studies, she demonstrated a keen interest in contemporary music and improvisation, which became central to her artistic identity.
This deep connection to contemporary repertoire ultimately brought her back to Switzerland, where she completed a degree in Contemporary Music Performance and Interpretation at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, graduating with the highest distinction.
As a performer, Waser’s artistic activities span across Europe, where she engages audiences with her explorations of Dadaism and theatrical elements in music. An advocate for unconventional sound worlds, she is also a dedicated toy pianist, expanding the expressive possibilities of this unique instrument.
Through her work, Mirjam Waser continues to push boundaries, redefining the relationship between music, performance, and theatricality.
