Pianist Minyoung Rho was born in Incheon and grew up in Seoul, South Korea. After graduating Seoul National University, Rho continued to study and perform in the USA under the guidance of Dr. Ian Hobson. She won a number of awards, including 2022 Rockwood Competition and the concerto competitions at the Summer Piano Institute of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Florida State University, working with Sinfonia da Camera and University Philharmonic Orchestra.

Rho participated in a series of concerts in the 20th biennial Festival of New Music at FSU (Tallahassee, 2022), performing works of contemporary composers including Clifton Callender, Paul Novak, and Pamela Z. Her recent solo performances include Guest Artist Recital of TLI Art Center (Seoul, 2021), IPAC-the Pianissimo Salon Concert (Seoul, 2020), and two solo recitals as a monthly artist of Steinway Society of Puerto Rico (San Juan, 2018).

She is currently pursuing DM Piano Performance along with the specialized program in Pedagogy of Music Theory and Master's degree in Organ Performance at FSU.
