Ke Wang
Ke Wang is a native of China and a current candidate for his D.M.A. at Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University. At eight, he attended the Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under Zijie Wu, Zhe Tang, and Natalia Filippova. By 2021, Wang has accomplished his Bachelor and Master’s degree at the Juilliard School, New York, studying with Matti Raekallio and Jerome Lowenthal. He repeatedly received the Niu-En-De Scholarship for Young Pianists, the High-School Student Scholarship, and the Eckstein Scholarship. He has been an officially admitted collaborative pianist at the Juilliard School.
Wang won the first prize in the 6th China Zhejiang Youth Piano Competition and the second prize in the 3rd Liszt International Youth Piano Competition in Weimar. In 2019, Wang was awarded the second prize of the 3rd Piano Island Festival Competition in Singapore and a special prize recital in Bangkok rewarded by pianist Prommachart. He recently won the first prize of the 4th International Moscow Music Online-Competition and the third prize of the 7th Paderewski International Piano Competition. Highlights of his career include a concert tour in Germany, the Steinway 125th Anniversary Concert Tour, the Osaka International Music Festival, and the Sauter Piano New Year’s Concert Series.
Propelled by a strong ambition for collaborative music, Wang presented chamber tours with first-class musicians on major stages including the ones in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, and Chengdu.
As a concert pianist, Wang has also been collaborating with world-leading conductors and orchestras, including conductor Muhai Tang, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, and the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra.
